A Universal Bach

As one of the UK's leading writers on music, Paul Griffiths, remarked, Bach's music is truly universal.

"It contains, within itself, all the information necessary for its understanding, and travellers have found that where Beethoven or Chopin mean little in West Africa or Indonesia, a Bach Invention is instantly recognised for what it is and enjoyed."

Mark Lowther finds out what Bach's music means to people in different countries around the world.

Guests also include former Beatle Paul McCartney and Rabbi Dr. Julia Neuberger, as well as Bolivian artist Fernando Montes and distinguished Russian conductor Vladimir Jurowski.

A Universal Bach
