What is Solve the Story?

Solve the Story is an exciting, six-part series from BBC Bitesize Other Side of the Story, designed to be used in the classroom to help young people strengthen their media literacy skills.

In this ‘whodunnit’ adventure filled with suspense, students will follow a group of teens whose digital and analytical skills are put to the test as they work fast to solve a mystery.

How can you use Solve the Story in the classroom?

Each episode is paired with a short, practical ‘how to’ film, focusing on a specific media literacy skill such as spotting manipulated images, identifying biased headlines, analysing social media feeds, and checking and using reliable sources.

To support classroom discussions and deepen students’ understanding of key media literacy concepts, a range of engaging resources will also be available.

These include ready-to-use lesson videos, thought-provoking activities and discussion prompts to spark critical thinking.
