BBC Around the World

During the Shape our Future sessions, people were asked to look ahead to how we will be organised in 2007 and what type of people will work here.

How we’ll be organised

The majority of respondents wanted a simpler, flatter structure at the BBC by 2007. They want “…less bureaucracy, fewer layers which will give us clarity of vision from the top”.

Other key ideas for how we should be organised included fewer divisions, more collaboration and cross-functional teams and a more audience-focused approach. Below is a chart outlining the key response areas:

Who will work here

Participants said we’ll need a more flexible, diverse, multi-skilled and adaptable workforce in the future. We’ll need to be creative, take risks and engage our audiences in a deeper, more inclusive and collaborative way.
