Tonight, cloud will thicken over the mainland, with outbreaks of rain moving in from the east during the early hours, turning heavy at times. The Isles will turn mostly cloudy but stay generally dry.

Saturday

Tomorrow morning, the mainland will be cloudy and wet, with the rain also pushing into Orkney. The mainland will see showers through the afternoon, but the Isles will then see heavy rain develop.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Saturday will be drier, but there will still be a few showers on the mainland. Dull on the Isles, with some light rain in Shetland. Sunday is expected to see more widespread and heavier showers over the mainland. The Isles should have variable cloud and fewer showers. Monday may bring heavy rain for a time to the mainland and Orkney, but it should be drier in Shetland.
