Drivers have faced hours of delays on the A11 in Norfolk after part of a crane that was travelling on a lorry fell on to the road.

Norfolk Police said the "large metal object" came off by the Mundford Roundabout, near Thetford, at about 13:50 BST.

It has led to a southbound closure in the area.

Travel service Inrix said a crane ballast had blocked the carriageway, which required specialist recovery. National Highways said on Tuesday evening there was "extensive damage" to the road, which needed resurfacing.
