Chesney Hawkes to play at harvest festival
PA MediaSingers Chesney Hawkes and Nik Kershaw are among a line-up of star performers due to play at an evening celebrating rural life.
The Great British Harvest Festival will be held at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on 26 September to honour the country's farming heritage, rural communities and musical talents.
The National Youth Choir, composer and conductor Sir John Rutter, Grammy winner Dame Evelyn Glennie and jazz funk outfit The James Taylor Quartet will also perform, among others.
Patrick Cooper, director of property company Pigeon which is organising the event, said it will be a "celebration of everything that makes our rural communities so special".
He continued: "By bringing together world-class performers in the magnificent setting of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, we hope to create a memorable evening that not only celebrates Britain's farming heritage but also raises vital funds for three exceptional charities."
Music producer Andrew Sunnucks, who also farms in Little Maplestead near Sudbury, and media company boss Nick Bullen will produce the event alongside Cooper.

It will be hosted by writer and TV producer John Lloyd - whose work includes QI, Blackadder and Spitting Image - broadcaster Zeb Soanes and chef Andy Clarke.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the harvest theme and bring their own picnics featuring the best of British food, or they can order specially-prepared ones in advance.
The event is being held in aid of three charities: Cambridge Children's Hospital, mental health charity The Charlie Watkins Foundation and rural mental health support group YANA (You Are Not Alone).
