Man charged with murder over cyclist's death

A man has been charged with murder after a cyclist died following a collision in east London.

Chris Powell, 51, was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on Aylward Street in Stepney Green at about 23:15 BST on 6 August. He died three days later.

Parvez Ahmed Rahman, 33, of Russia Lane, Bethnal Green, appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, where the charge was upgraded to murder.

He will next appear in court on 28 October.
