Man dies after single vehicle crash on island

A man has died following a crash involving a single vehicle in Shetland.

Police were called to the incident on the island of Papa Stour at about 17:30 on Friday.

A 51-year-old man was found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, but later died.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing.

Papa Stour is located to the west of mainland Shetland and in 2024 had an estimated population of 15 people.
