Hull City fans have expressed their frustration that the club still does not know their opponents for the Championship play-off final on Saturday.

Southampton were thrown out by the English Football League after admitting spying on opponents Middlesbrough.

The Teesside club was reinstated to the final, but Southampton is appealing against the decision, leaving the Tigers waiting to find out who they will face at Wembley.

City supporter Richard Heath, queueing at the MKM Stadium club shop to buy a play-off scarf, described the situation as "really frustrating".

"I think a lot of the excitement's now drained out of it," he said.

"It's like my son. He lives away from us and he's like, 'are we on, are we not on?'

"It starts to become stressful where it should have been a really exciting week."

Naomi Robinson said the wait to find out the club's opponents was "really disappointing".

"It's been really up and down for the fans, obviously not knowing what's happening still and we're now on Wednesday," she said.

"I think really Hull City should have just gone up."

However, Sean Pexton, who was buying Hull City shirts with his daughter, said the uncertainty could benefit the Tigers and "might play into their hands".

"I hope anyway, because at least City have been focused, just they know that they're going to be playing," he said.

"City have had a good record in the play-off finals, so yeah, fingers crossed."
