National Highways said there were no longer delays on the section of the M42 where a vehicle fire happened earlier

Part of a motorway which was forced to close due to a vehicle fire has now reopened.

The fire happened earlier on the northbound section of the M42, between Junction 3A, for the M40, and Junction 4, for Shirley, West Midlands.

National Highways had warned on X that only one of the four lanes was open and there were three miles of traffic and "delays of 30 minutes".

A crew from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service worked at the scene and the lanes later reopened, with no delays reported.
