A West Yorkshire Police officer has appeared in court charged with the rape of a girl under the age of 13.

Det Con Daniel Livesley, who works in the Bradford district, is currently suspended from duty.

York Magistrates' Court heard the 48-year-old, from Bradford, was accused of one count of rape and three counts of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 between 2017 and 2019 while off duty.

He is due to appear at York Crown Court on 27 July to enter his pleas.

Livesley was given conditional bail with a stipulation that he does not contact anyone under the age of 18 without permission.
