Five men arrested on suspicion of rape

Five men were arrested on suspicion of rape following reports of an attack in Ipswich town centre.

Suffolk Police said it was called to Curriers Lane in the early hours of Sunday.

The men, aged 27, 31, 35, 44 and 49, remained in police custody for questioning. A woman, in her 30s, was being supported by specialist-trained officers.

Police said on Monday evening that all five had been released under investigation and a cordon at the scene had been lifted.

Det Ch Insp Craig Brett said officers would be in the area to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
