Man seriously injured in bus stop assault

A man has suffered a serious head injury in an assault in Staffordshire, police have said.

Officers were called to a bus stop on Stafford Road in Stone following reports of violence at 00:30 BST on Sunday.

Two unknown men had reportedly punched the victim in the face, Staffordshire Police said, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The force has appealed to the public for information and urged anyone who saw what happened or who has video footage to get in touch.
