A farm known globally for its potatoes is opening its doors for a free family day on Sunday.

The Jersey Royal Company said all were welcome to Peacock Farm in Trinity to "explore the farm, learn something new and have a great time with family and friends".

On Tuesday during her visit to Jersey the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Jersey Royal potato pack house to speak about balancing production with sustainability.

The company said there would be "plenty to get stuck into" including an educational marquee, inviting people to pick their own potatoes and guided packhouse tours "to see exactly how Jersey Royals are freshly packed on island".

It added there would also be a micro laboratory exhibit and food stalls: "Come along for a fun, hands-on look at farming in Jersey."
