A family have paid tribute to a biker who died in a car crash in Fife.

Police were called to the crash on the A911, near the junction with the B9130 for Markinch, at about 13:00 on Friday 22 May.

Scott Brough, 47, died at the scene. His family said they were "absolutely heartbroken" and were struggling to come to terms with the "devastating tragedy".

Police renewed their appeal for information about the crash which involved a white Mercedes Citan van and a BMW S1000 motorbike.

In a statement issued through Police Scotland, they said Scott, who was a father, meant the world to them.

"Scott loved riding his motorbike," they said. "It was something he was truly passionate about and brought him so much happiness.

"We would like to express our sincere thanks to the police officers who have supported us through this incredibly difficult time.

"Their kindness, compassion and professionalism have been a great source of comfort, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done."

The family said they had been overwhelmed by messages of support and condolences they had received.

They added: "As a family, we have always been very private people and would like to remain that way.

"We respectfully ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve, support one another, and remember Scott."

Sgt Chris Anderson, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with Scott's family and friends during this upsetting time.

"Our inquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to come forward."
