Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival begins

A five-day comedy festival begins on Wednesday evening in Shrewsbury.

The Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival will run between 8 and 12 July and venues include The Hive, The Loft at The Old Post Office, The Morris Hall and Theatre Severn.

Every year the event supports a charity, with Severn Hospice being this year's beneficiary.

Among the comedians performing this year are Abandoman, Lindsey Santoro, Tez Ilyas, Troy Hawke, Cally Beaton and Scott Bennett.

It will come to a close with a show at Theatre Severn including Lou Sanders, Morgan Rees, Frankie Monroe, Ignacio Lopez, Esther Manito, MC'd by Scott Bennett.
