Drivers to face two months of overnight A14 work

Drivers are to face more than two months' worth of roadworks on the A14 through Suffolk.

National Highways is working on refreshing road markings and road studs on the carriageways from 6 July to 10 September.

It will take place between Wherstead at junction 56 and Felixstowe at junction 62.

Various closures will take place across the two months. National Highways said keeping the road "well maintained" would help improve freight movement, supply chains and road-user journeys.

The first of the works will take place on the westbound carriageway between junction 62 and 61 near Felixstowe from 6 to 8 July between 22:00 and 06:00 BST each night.

A diversion will be in place for drivers.

Other works taking place include:

• Overnight closures on 10 to 13 July on the westbound carriageway between junction 58 at Seven Hills and 57 at Nacton
• Overnight closures on 18 and 21 July on the eastbound carriageway between junction 57 at Nacton and junction 58 for Seven Hills
• Overnight closures on 27 July to 5 August on the westbound carriageway between junction 58a at Trimley and junction 58 at Seven Hills

National Highways said it would not be working during Latitude Festival, which runs from 23 to 26 July.

As well as this it would not be working over the bank holiday on 31 August.
