A motorcyclist has died in a crash in Sheffield city centre, prompting a witness appeal from police.

A black Triumph motorbike was being driven on the A57 Sheffield Parkway, away from Park Square roundabout towards the Prince of Wales Interchange, when it hit a kerb and crashed on Monday, South Yorkshire Police said.

The male rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the force added, with no other vehicle thought to have been involved.

The collision happened at about 18:45 BST, with those who saw the motorbike or people with relevant dashcam footage asked to contact police.
