Man charged after viable device found

A man in his 20s has been charged after a viable device was found in County Armagh.

Police were called to the Carrive Road area of Silverbridge shortly after 08:45 BST on Saturday.

A controlled explosion was later carried out on the device by ammunition technical officers.

The 22-year-old has been charged with with possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances and a number of drug offences.

This includes the possession of Class A and Class B drugs with the intent to supply.

He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court on Monday.
