Thames Water said it was sending a team to look at the issue on Tuesday morning

A burst water pipe has been isolated after homes in a Cotswold village were left without water on a day when temperatures of 30°C are forecast.

Thames Water has apologised to customers in Bourton-on-the-Water, who have had no supply or low pressure in their homes after the pipe burst on Stow Road.

The utility company said it had received 185 calls from the village on Tuesday morning and, in an update shortly before 10:00 BST, said its engineers had located the burst.

"While repairs are ongoing and during busier periods, some customers may still experience low pressure or a temporary loss of water," Thames Water said.

Thames Water said temporary traffic lights had also been installed so its team can carry out the repair safely.

"We're sorry for the disruption and any traffic delays this may cause, and we advise drivers to allow extra time for their journeys," a spokesperson said.
