The Queen Elizabeth II bridge was closed due to a police incident which led to severe delays and congestion.

National Highways first reported the road was closed southbound between the M25 junction 31 at Lakeside/Purfleet and the A282 junction 1A at Dartford at 17:27 BST on Monday. Essex and Kent police forces were both at the scene.
