The driver of a lorry believed to be carrying equipment for one of the bands performing at Download was taken to hospital after crashing into a house while en route to the festival.

Thousands of rock fans are at the UK's biggest festival for 2026 at Donington Park in Leicestershire this weekend.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to reports of a lorry hitting several parked cars and a house on Walton Hill in Isley Walton - a short distance from the festival site - at about 23:20 BST on Thursday.

No-one inside the property was injured, the force said.

A relative of the property's owners told the BBC the lorry was believed to be carrying equipment for one of the bands performing on the main Apex Stage on Friday.

Police said Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance along with East Midlands Ambulance Service.

The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
