A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of attacking and robbing another teenage girl in Bestwood.

Nottinghamshire Police said the girl was sitting on a bench in Pavior Road at about 18:00 BST on 17 August when she was confronted and attacked.

The force said the girl was left with multiple cuts and clumps of her hair missing while her phone was also taken during the melee and later found smashed on the ground further up the road.

Police said a 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of robbery on Saturday.

PC Connor Richardson said: "The level of violence involved in this incident was completely unacceptable, so we're pleased to have now made an arrest.

"Robbery is an incredibly serious offence that can impact people in a multitude of different ways, whether that's from a physical, financial, or emotional standpoint."

Officers appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack or filmed it on their phone to contact the force.
