Plans have been submitted for 160 homes on the outskirts of Breadsall Hilltop in Derbyshire.

Wheeldon Brothers Ltd is seeking outline planning permission for land to the north of Hungerhill Close.

The proposed development is set to include 72 affordable dwellings, planning documents submitted to Erewash Borough Council said.

Documents prepared by the applicant said the 5.78 hectare (14.28 acre) site was "well-positioned to support sustainable travel patterns" and offered "good access to local amenities".

The agricultural land is bordered by the Great Northern Greenway to the north and would be accessed via Hungerhill Close.

The application is expected to be considered later this year.
