Pedestrian dies after two-vehicle motorway crash
Laura Foster/BBCA pedestrian has died after a motorway crash involving two vehicles, police have said.
Detectives believe the collision, near the southbound A1(M) slip road for Stevenage, Hertfordshire, may have happened as he got out of a broken-down car.
Emergency services were called at 01:20 BST on Saturday but the man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hertfordshire Police said the drivers of the vehicles involved were assisting with its investigation, and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Det Sgt Ben Heath said: "We are appealing for witnesses, information and dashcam footage as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
"At this stage, we believe the man may have been exiting a broken-down silver Honda Civic that was stationary on the grass verge near to the slip road.
"If you were travelling in the area at the time and recall seeing the vehicle, or if you have any information that you think may assist with our inquiries, please get in touch."
