A remembrance garden along with several other buildings including a school, houses and shops have been defaced by offensive graffiti.

The buildings in Teesville, Eston and Normanby on Teeside were sprayed detailing the same words, including the word "nonce", overnight on Thursday, councillor for the Teesville Ward, Peter Chaney, said.

Redcar and Cleveland council teams have been instructed to remove it as soon as possible.

Chaney urged anyone who has seen any more vandalism connected to the graffiti to get in touch with the council.
