Cyclist dies in crash with car on rural road

A cyclist has died in a crash with a car on a rural road in Derbyshire.

Police said the collision between the bike and a Honda Civic happened near the Mires Lane junction on the A623 near Litton shortly before 07:40 BST on Thursday.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, died at the scene while the car driver was treated for minor injuries.

Derbyshire Police said the cyclist's family had been made aware and it was looking to speak to witnesses.
