A man who got into difficulty in the water has been taken to hospital.

HM Coastguard was called to Cromer in Norfolk at about 14:30 BST on Friday.

A spokesperson said the Cromer and Sheringham coastguard rescue teams, the Mundesley volunteer lifeboat crew and the East of England Ambulance Service attended.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance Service has also been contacted for comment, but on its website, it described the incident as a "cardiac arrest".

Norfolk Police said it assisted with crowd management to assist the other emergency services.

The force said the man was treated at the scene and the BBC has asked the ambulance service about his condition.
