Man jailed for sexually assaulting sleeping girl
Humberside PoliceA man has been jailed for nine years for sexually abusing a teenage girl and secretly filming her getting undressed.
David Rudkin, 57, was arrested in 2019 when the victim made a complaint to police saying she believed he had assaulted her while she slept and had hidden his phone to record her, Humberside Police said.
He initially denied the allegations and was released while detectives continued their investigations. One of his old phones was eventually found and it contained a video of the girl getting changed.
Rudkin, of Roxby Road, Winterton, pleaded guilty to a number of offences, including sexual assault and voyeurism, at a hearing in March and was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Friday.
Det Con Molly Cross said: "Rudkin is a sexual predator who took away a young girl's teenage years by subjecting her to years of abuse and trauma.
"I would like to commend the bravery of the girl who came forward and reported Rudkin.
"These investigations are lengthy and complex, but it is thanks to her bravery throughout the process that he is now behind bars."
Rudkin has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
