TG Jones plans to close its site on Fort William High Street which currently hosts the branch.
The single-vehicle crash happened near Corpach, north of Fort William, in February.
Residents say changes to the town's link with Corpach have affected people trying to get to work.
The extension approved by Highland councillors will enable the site to decommission larger structures.
