Go on patrol with the Canadian Rangers across the frozen Arctic
The Canadian army has completed a 3,320-mile (5,200-km) two-month long Arctic patrol in northern Manitoba travelling through extreme conditions in what officials say was the largest mission in the history of the Canadian Rangers.
The force crossed ice-covered terrain by snowmobile, camped in temperatures as low as -60C and followed a route not attempted in 80 years as part of Operation Nanook-Nunalivut, an annual exercise designed to reinforce Canada's military presence in the Arctic.
The BBC travelled with the Canadian Rangers on the last leg of their journey from Nunuvat to Manitoba, witnessing the end of a difficult and long military operation.
